Successes: Keith is the fourth president in the 100+ year history of Harlan Electric.
After earning a BS in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University in 1979, Keith worked for Tom Smith and Associates of Nashville, TN as a Certified Public Accountant. His work there included audit, management advisory and tax planning services for businesses including Harlan Electric Company.
In 1989 Keith brought his administrative and planning skills to Harlan full-time as VP/CFO. His innate interest in the field operations led to his involvement in all aspects of the business and culminated in his appointment as president upon the retirement of Steve Harlan.
Pride: Keith enjoys being a part of Harlan’s steady growth. Over the years, Keith has found it very rewarding to watch the company’s capabilities, equity and financial strength become so solid. His greatest joy has come from growing right along with many of the company’s employees.
Involved: Keith is a past President of Middle Tennessee NECA. Former president and board member of Old Hickory Country Club. He is a member of the AICPA and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Keith is also serving his second term on the Board of Directors (Vice President) for the prestigious Federated Electrical Contractors (FEC) and is humbled to serve as an elder at Hermitage Church of Christ.
Free time: When he’s out of the office, Keith can be found reading alongside his childhood girlfriend of over 45 years (now his wife). He’s a born competitor and enjoys sports and physical activity. He shares the love of golf that runs through his family and is grateful to have the blessing of playing frequently in a foursome with his two brothers and his father, as they each try desperately to post the lowest score.
