Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC) is a 286-bed facility that is located in Murfreesboro’s Gateway area on 68.5 acres of land owned by MTMC. The new campus’ 68.5 acres is more than 4 times larger than MTMC’s previous campus where the hospital was established in 1927. The $268 million project was completed and occupied in July 2010.
The hospital facility, outpatient diagnostic and surgical facilities, as well as medical office buildings, are located on a new site that has direct interstate access via Medical Center Parkway exit/access to I-24.
The DePaul Medical Office Building is connected to the new MTMC hospital with shelled space for additional beds in anticipation of the county’s continued growth. The new MTMC has nearly 600,000 square feet of new construction space, specific projections for 32 intensive care beds and 30 obstetrical beds.
The project is a LEAN Construction Project and Harlan is proud to be a lean partner on the Newest Health Care Facility for Middle Tennessee.
The project won multiple awards for innovations in construction delivery methods and BIM/Lean concept implementation.
